Also, you can avoid this completely by not pressing "Park" when stopping. Just hit the stop/start button after stopping to shut the car off and it will automatically be put in Park.
Now this I did not know! I will have to confirm this works. I will say that since the transmission selector is drive-by-wire, the act of pulling it out of park seems to be extremely smooth -- even when the vehicle is parked on an incline -- since a motor has to do that work instead of you physically pulling on a gear shift lever. It doesn't appear to exhibit very strong torque lock against the parking pawl inside the transmission. It was probably engineered to work smoother since it is a drive-by-wire system, though that is just an off-the-cuff guess.

Yes, this is a good tip--it was passed on to me by a Range Rover owner, so I guess it works on any pushbutton start vehicle. When you turn the engine off, not only does it go into Park automatically but the doors unlock also.

I have never seen my parking brake engage automatically. Wonder if that was a change for 2016, or if I just don't have it turned on somehow?

How does the k900 compare to the g90? There are no k900 near me yet so I test drove the g90 instead and I loved it. It was so smooth and quiet. But it didn’t have some of the tech I really want, eg touch screen CarPlay or the side blind spot camera. If the k900 drives anything like the g90, it’d be an amazing car w more tech and cost less.

My 2015 automatically applied the parking brake, as well as automatically removes it when I shift into gear. Seemless for me

I haven't driven the G90 yet but I have driven driven the 2019 K900 twice and comared against 2019 Audi A6 and BMW 540ix. The K900 drives more comfortable but still has excellent handling. Eventhough Kia markets the K900 as mid-size because of price and wheel base, it is bigger than the German mid-sized cars and compares more to the A8 and 7 series in terms of ride comfort. The G90 is technically bigger than the K900 so the K900 falls somewhere between a G80 and G90. What model year G90 did you test drive? The 2020 G90 updates the tech, exterior and interior with common elements from the 2019 K900. You can find videos about the 2020 G90 on YouTube but no pricing or availability on those new models. It's safe to bet that the base price of the 2020 G90 will stay $12-15k higher. I recommend lookin up Alexonautos on YouTube and seeing his reviews on both the 2019 K900 and the current G90 (not 2020 G90). He does an excellent analysis of the differences of the cars in comparison

Thanks for the reply. Based on your opinion, How did the k900 compared to the a6 or 540 in terms of hwy interior noise? I’m looking for an ultra quiet car for my commute and road trips. Alex mentioned the k900 is one of the quietest.

The K900 is moderately more quiet than the A6 and significantly more quiet than the 540 IMHO. People say really the only car more quiet than the K900 is the Mercedes S class which I have not driven.

Just want to introduce myself as a brand new and proud 2019 K900 owner. Bought the car one week ago with the VIP package and couldnít be happier. I am amazed by the quality of all materials used, the colors, the comfort, and simply everything the car provides. Love driving it!
