Wow this looks awesome! Where did you get those? Was the process of removing and putting the new ones on difficult? Didn't know this is offered from a 3rd party.

Anyone running an ipod via apple lightning cable? if you, on playlist with more than 100 song do you maintain the full functionally of the "swipe to scroll" function on you radio? For some reason mine does not. I have tried multiple 6gen ipods with different apple lighting cables, all with the same result. For some reason it works just fine on an older ipod with the old school 30 pin connection? The dealer is convinced that I need to purchase the $60 "KIA special" ipod cable and that will solve my problem. I called the KIA 1-800 and they are so sure the problem is not with the cable that they are willing to send me a free cable after the dealer test the USB port to make sure it ain't fault. Just want to see if the problem is just with my car or did KIA miss a line of code somewhere in there.

I don't use Apple products so I can't comment about your 6th gen iPod, but in general but since I work for a tech company in the automotive market place I know that some cables just don't measure up when it comes to speed profiles and power draw. For the case with LG smart phones many USB-C to to A cables just don't work with Android Auto on these head units. Cables DO matter so it's not out of the possibility that sub par lightning cable is causing problems.
I'm a it surprised you are still using an iPod and not using Apple Car Play from your iphone. Would it not be easier to keep all your play lists in the apple cloud and be able to use your voice commands to control it all? |
Does anybody have an idea why the new update for the 2019 K900 shows “currently not available” The new features look interesting, I would love to update the map.
https://www.kia-gpsmap.us/map-update...019-v13-0.html The version on my K900 is 11.47.44.462.0061 – the now version regarding to KIA is NA.12.41.51.592 (V13.0) |
Because it's not out just yet. Mapnsoft creates updates once a year for all Kia and Hyundai model vehicles and it's usually some time in May. The reason is that they discount the price of previous year maps to flush out the inventory. Expect the price of the update to be over $200. They'll send you an SD card or USB drive with the update on it and you can flash it yourself via the infotainment screen. Since I mainly use Android Auto I have a hard time justifying upgrading the maps every year for that price considering the list of what's changed since the last revision that came with the car.

Well my battery depletion issue came back yesterday. The car had been parked in the garage for 5 days and not started but I had been in and out of it unlocking/locking with the welcome theatrics a few times during the week. I'd also been in the trunk as well during this parked time.
. . . I've scheduled an appointment at one of my local K900 dealers to check the electrical system in a couple of weeks. This battery drain thing is happening only after days of the car not starting but accessing the car via unlocking, opening doors, trunks, etc... My guess is that there's something pulling way too much current when the car wakes up to do the welcome acknowledgement, operate the power locks and trunk and continues to stay active although the car never is started. Either that, or the battery I have is just a plain dud. Either way I'm going to get to the bottom of this problem. The car should not deplete it's battery for sitting for 5 days regardless of unlocking/locking it and operating the trunk occasionally. |
I'm also going to have them adjust the low beam cutoff up a little as I think it's throw is a bit short when they are checking the electric.
