Default 2015 vip

Picked up a 2015 K900 Black on Black with VIP package that came off lease. Had to search the country for it. Found it in Seattle. I live in Arizona. It took a while to find the right one. I will be going through a lot of this forum now to figure out some of the stuff I still have questions on. Like, is there a way to turn off that annoying Warning Message that you have to AGREE to every time I start the car?

Thanks

the software should turn it off automatically after about 5 to 7 seconds; usually pretty quickly. I believe all the K900's had that updated software that some of the earlier KIA Optimas and Cadenzas did not.
There is also a glitch in the original software that affects the cd/media making it cut off sometimes; KIA dealer should update that no charge; it's a known issue. Your KIA dealer that handles K900 ( not all KIA dealers are permitted to service them by KIA ) should also be able to search the VIN and see if your car has had updated software.

You'll love the car.

It still appears to have the original software from 2014, based on what I see on the versions in settings. I see there is a new version 12 coming next week for map updates, so going to wait for that to download so see how much it fixes.

K900 Map Update - Map Updates

This is my 48th vehicle of ownership, this one purchased specifically for road trips. So far so good, except that the old map doesn't even show my neighborhood in it. Once I get that update next week, should be good to go.

My 2015 was the same. It was fixed when I did the map update. The update includes a software update that will show the warning confirm button for the navigation for 10 seconds, then it goes away automatically.

Did you download it yourself or did you order the package from them?

Second what Dave H said. Take it to a Kia dealer to get a software refresh, should be free.

I ordered the update from mapnsoft.com, which does all of Hyundai's and Kia's nav map updates. The map updates usually include firmware and software updates as well. The updates are overpriced, in my opinion, but my car had the 2014 version, and I figured updating every 3 or 4 years isn't too bad. Plus I knew the update would put the safety warning on a 10 second timer, and the maps had some useful updates for my area. Doing the upgrade yourself is easy, and wasted a lot less of my time than taking it to the dealer would have.

Except that the dealer will do it for free.
I did mine as part of the scheduled maintenance so it didn't waste any more time that otherwise would have been.
I presume your MY'14 still has warranty on it as Kia is 5yr/60, if it outside of that range then I can understand why you'd prefer to DIY.

Hey joelischynski, I notice you've the Korean Kia batch. Was that hard to put on? Been thinking about it but somewhat apprehensive not knowing how difficult it would be to remove the original batch and old glue...
