"They say tradition and heritage are what make a luxury sedan, but is that truly the case?"

This is the first commercial for the Kia K900, and Kia knows it has to overcome the long history of luxury that its competitors can lean on. The commercial does a good job of getting you at least interested enough to look into exactly what Kia is offering, I know I am.

“The K900 is a modern and new twist on luxury, and our campaign provides a long-term platform to speak to and engage with confident, independent thinkers who actively seek out new products and unique ideas from up-and-coming brands.” said Michael Sprague, executive vice president, marketing & communications, Kia Motors America.


Do you think that this is the right way to market the K900?

Kia seems to be aware of the uphill battle it is facing. This is a good move though. They recognize that they don't have the history, but they don't care. That's not luxury. Hopefully it will get people to take a look and consider the K900. That is all they can hope for.

commercial makes a good point. only you decide what truly makes luxury.

I love this commercial, the close up's they show of the K900 look amazing, the mirrors, digital instrument cluster, etc.

its not about luxury or name calling. Its about getting you to spend your $50-70K with them. Will you, why will you, will they, why should people?

This is true. They're just trying to show their alternative, which is a good one if you want something new, different, and cheaper.

Some people just find it hard to part with their Lexus, Mercedes, Acura, BMW, Audi, etc
