Default Rearview mirror illumination

I noticed the other day while driving my K900 near dusk that the homelink buttons on the rearview mirror were not illuminated, which made it a little annoying to get the right one to open the garage.. This kind of surprised me, as the homelink buttons on my previous car were illuminated at night. Is there something wrong that I need to get fixed, or are the buttons on the rearview mirror in the K900 just not illuminated?

not illuminated sorry to say. one of my peeves also; had an Optima and a Cadenza and they weren't lit either. I've been used to the lighted ones also from other cars. I just use the one nearest the green always on light.
one of those easy upgrades they should definitely do; maybe one day.

sure; glad to assist just wish it did light up. on my Cadenza, I cut a very small strip of black velcro and taped it on the button so I could feel it. worked fine so didn't have to 'hunt' for the button.

That's a pretty good idea, I may try it. Thanks!

No, I probably wouldn't, as I use my garage door opener on the mirror. Fortunately, I'm only 5'9", so I don't have the same mirror issues you do!

Have you made any more progress on your modifications?
