I've posted about several weird and unguessable things on the K900, so I thought it would be fair to post about the really good parts too.

Let me start with the trunk cargo hook (hanger?). I thought at first it was too flimsy to do much, but I've discovered it's just about the right height to hold a grocery bag upright, with most of the weight still resting on the trunk floor. So the hook doesn't have to hold the whole weight, but just holds it upright. Very well engineered! Works great with a gallon of milk, and today I found it works just as well with a Kentucky Fried Chicken bag. I've had a KFC gravy catastrophe in another car, so I was truly happy to have that cargo all upright and secure. Long live the hook!

Just noticed something today--it's been a rainy week, and I realized that the K900 wipers always park themselves neatly at the base of the windshield when you turn off the engine. Every other car I've ever owned will leave them halfway up the glass sometimes. A tiny but excellent feature!

I was talking about the wiper thing with some of the guys at work, and one of them asked me how you change the blades if you can't make the wipers stop partway up the windshield. Good question! I hadn't thought of that. Has anybody done it?

Have you tried it in other than auto wipers mode?
Saw mine changed at dealership and they were stopped up on windshield

Ah, good point, Gene. I'll try that.

There's actually a procedure for this in the manual, I discovered. The Kia engineers seem to have come close to thinking of everything!

The weather has turned nice, so I was doing a little car tidying up today.

I was looking at some dirt in the finger well right in front of the arm rest and thinking, well, I'll have to get in there with a cotton swab, when I noticed there was a little tab on the rubber lining. Generally, tabs are things you can pull, so I pulled, and I was amazed when the little mat popped right out! Another thoughtful feature discovered.

I also found the same for the rubber liners for the cupholders and the little bin at the very front of the console under the USB port, so I was able to clean all three of them easily.

I couldn't help but think about somebody restoring one of these things in 50 or 60 years, though--imagine being one tiny rubber armrest mat away from that perfect concours restoration, and not being able to find it!

Well, on my recent vacation, I discovered the neatest thing. When you cross a time zone boundary, the screen shows a message and both the screen clock and the analog clock below it reset appropriately. I was impressed.
