Default New Battery

I took mine in for its initial service visit since I got it this past February, for Oil change and overall inspection. So, besides the obvious 4 wheel alignment that it needs, I was also given the news that the battery is getting weak. That makes sense considering its almost 4 years old now, and all the electronics it has to deal with, but it was the price of the battery that made me say WTF? $450 for a replacement battery through the dealer.

So I am going to research getting one online first. Anybody have any luck with a more reasonable battery price?

So far, I have found that Batteries Plus has one for $299, plus a 10% online discount.

Default advance auto parts

Have you tried advance auto parts? They advertise $191.99 when I checked. But then you find out it will be $219.99 total for the K900 if they get the old battery

Thanks for the Pep Boys tip. They don't have Bosch available in my area, but they do have Champion for $164.99

Joe, probably nothing to do w/ your case, but one thing I found in my searches and carfax report of multiple cars that I analyzed was "battery replacement" during service. One car had 4 batteries replaced from 2015 until now..

It made me wonder if there's something going on with the K900's battery. My wife's X6 is 2013 and battery is still original, no signs of needing replacement.

I work from home so the car only really gets used on the weekends. This is a problem for high electronic component cars that put more of a drain on the battery when they sit for extended periods of time.

Just putting a plug in here for Pep Boys who changed my old battery out this week for a new Champion for $164 with free install.

No electrical issues with trunk or memory or sunroof or anything other than some of the audio items get reset to default mode.

Thanks for the tip. $164 sounds more like a price for a normal car. $450 sounds more like a Tesla!
