Default Miscellaneous quirks

We have threads for good and bad features, so it seemed time to start one for just weirdnesses. And I have a good one to start, discovered by accident today.

If the rear seat center armrest is up, it won't pull down while a rear door is open. I can't imagine why this is there. Or, for that matter, how they did it--is there a magnet in there somewhere? Or a servor motor to lock the hinge? I can see this failing someday and leaving the armrest permanently up.

The ways of the K900 are many and strange!

Later note--if you open a back door with the armrest down, and then put the armrest up, it won't pull down again until you shut the door. They were very thorough in implementing this useless quirk.

DRL oddity! I was in a turn lane behind a truck with a shiny tailgate today, and I noticed the daytime running light on the side where the turn signal is flashing does not automatically turn itself off.

I think on practically every other car the two cannot be lit at the same time. In so many ways large and small, the K is its own dog.

I think the last "quirk" has to do w/ on most other cars the DRL and side turners share the same set of LEDs. In our K900s, Kia designed enough LEDs to have the hi-low beams, DRL, turn signals and fog lamps all separate!

You could be right, mdude. I don't know what else would make sense. There are certainly enough lights up front, including that odd vaguely Nike-swoosh shaped one at the top of the headlights which has no actual function at all, as far as I can tell.
