Default "manufacturer vehicle"?

Well, Carfax says that the car I have my eye on was "listed as a manufacturer vehicle" when it was sold at auction.

I've googled up the phrase and got very different results--"It's great, it was probably a courtesy car," etc., and also "Run! That's how they wash titles for lemon-law buybacks."

Anybody here got any wisdom to add? I'm puzzled.

Default

That's how mine was listed. A listing of manufacturer vehicle means it was owned by the manufacturer and used for things like press pool, display at celebrity events, use by company execs or whatever. I doubt it would be a lemon law buyback, as such a car would have been sold to someone and therefore titled previously. Said title should show on the carfax.
