LED Headlights
Headed to the dealer this Friday with the following two problems.
1. The low beam LED headlights are stuck pointing down at the ground. The fog lights cast a further beam. 2. Condensation inside both headlights. Starts next to the grill and covers about 3 inches. Has anyone else experienced either of these issues. David 2015 K900 - 17,000 miles |

Kia has ordered a new headlight controller. It is suppose to be in this Thursday. The people at Hendrick Kia in Concord, NC are outstanding. Far better experience than I had at the Hyundai dealer with the Genesis.

There are a few really good dealerships.

Kia said they will not repair the LED lights under warranty. The connection between the low beam LED housing and it's up-down actuator has broke. On both sides. The lens are laying all the way down and the cut line of the beam hits the road at 18 feet in front of the car. I bought the car used. Carfax notes that the car was involced in a minor front incident. The only evidense is that the left side of the bumper cover was re-repainted. There is no damage to the grill, headights, hood or fenders. Becasue of this Kia has refused to replace the light assemblies stating they believe the impact from the minor incident snapped the connection on both sides They have agreed to install new units at cost. I just need to write a check for $ 6,500.

KIA 's price for new LED head lamps is $3712.50 each. So if that includes replacement it's not bad.
OR you can buy them yourself for $2714.55 each from kiapartsnow.com not sure what shipping will cost as they are coming from Korea and then install them yourself. Might take forever to get them If you have to have someone do the install for you, your probably better off having KIA do it. I think I'd try taking one apart and see if I could epoxy the connection back in place. |
We could always order the headlights for you and it would be less money than anywhere you could find in the United States. It still would cost a lot of money but definitely less than other places.

AND K5 Optima Store will look out for you, good people to order from and work with
