I am having the same problem and am searching answers. Mine was in a minor fender bender also. The headlight was not damaged during the accident. Kia wants to go through my insurance to fix it but I don't feel that it is an insurance issue. It seems to me that they need to re-evaluate the headlights and how sensitive they are! Help me out..

Default use insurance

If the dealer can get it done under insurance, go for it. Or change to the HID lights they are cheaper
I would just have them replaced

not quite caveat *EMPTOR*.

In North Carolina a dealer has to do a state safety inspecting before they sell a car. The inspection includes making sure the headlights are fully functional and are properly adjusted. Some how this got past their inspector or they just signed the paper without actually doing then inspection. Either way the selling dealer said they will have the lights fixed within the next week or so. They have offered a rental car until then.

It is my understanding that the LED and HID systems us the same headlight assembly (+-$3,000 online). The only difference is the low beam is either LED or HID. Both systems have regular halogen bulbs for the high beam. The $3,000 assembly does not include any of the light bulbs.

Had my headlight go out with only 4,000 miles. Dealer replaced but told me it would have been $4,000 ya that's $4,000. Good think my lease goes through the warranty period.

Carfax notes that the car was involced in a minor front incident. The only evidense is that the left side of the bumper cover was re-repainted. There is no damage to the grill, headights, hood or fenders. Becasue of this Kia has refused to replace the light assemblies stating they believe the impact from the minor incident snapped the connection on both sides They have agreed to install new units at cost. I just need to write a check for $ 6,500.
What was the final outcome and how much did it cost to fix? Did you finally allow KIA to repair it or did you try epoxy?

KIA regional so they would not repair under warranty. KIA national has it under review. The selling dealer is still saying it will get fixed by them or KIA. Supposed to know which by the first of the week.
