Default Kia unveils future technology at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas

Kia gave a preview of the technology you will see in their future cars. at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Kia put on display its User-centered Concept (UDC), which shows off its next-generation user interface.

Kia's UDC is designed to keep the driver's hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. The UDC features a large, 18-inch Head-up display to keep drivers' eyes on the road. It displays typical info like speed, as well as navigation information and traffic conditions.

If you do need to look down at the center console things are made a lot easier through the use of cutting-edge hand-gesture control technology. Using hand or finger movements you can control things like navigation and radio functions.

Kia is also showcasing a new In-vehicle Infotainment Concept (IVI) at CEs. The centerpiece of IVI is a 20-inch multi-touch center console display that can connect to your smart phone or tablet. The system can connect to concierge and social networking services, as well as entertainment suites like Kia's "Smart Radio".

IVI also makes use of vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure technology. This keeps you up to date on traffic conditions and impending dangers.

It all sounds cool when you read it but you would really have to see it in person to understand how interesting the technology is. It could be something that looks boring and unusable or it could be like, this is the technology of the future!

Are you guys excited about HUDs?

just going off of what we can see, it's a big step for them and the part of the industry thats on their level.
they should probably show some video that tells what it's all about for those that are unfamiliar.

I didn't see that but it sounds pretty cool. With that you wouldn't need another car and jumper cables to jump your battery?

Never seen that, would you mind posting a link to it?
Thats better than some booster packs that at most give you 2 jumps, at least the smaller ones do.
