Angry Kia is discontinuing the K900 sedan for the U.S. market

This is not good news but not unexpected considering the low sales numbers. Personally, just trying to enjoy my 2019 K900 as long as I can and hope that parts will still be available when needed. I do understand the K9 is still being sold in Korea, there is even an updated 2021 model on their homepage. The K900 is a fantastic luxury car at half the price compared to other luxury brands and for me, by far the absolute best car I ever owned.

Parts for 2nd Gen would always be shipping from Korea anyway. The powertrain is very similar to the Stinger and that shouldn't be an issue.

That is definitely a shame, but it is hard to fault Kia given the sales numbers. The shame is that others don't know about the level of power, quality, and luxury available for the price point that is so much lower than competitors, particularly the used V-8 models. When I wear out my 2015 that now has 45,000 miles, I will be searching for another low mileage, mint condition V-8, probably a 2017 model.

Yes, I heard the news too, and can't be too surprised. The whole sedan market is tanking (the Cadenza's going kaput too), and the K was always in a somewhat strange little niche of it.

I hope to continue to enjoy mine for years. Since the Tau V8 went in things like the Borrego and Genesis as well, I'd expect engine and drive line parts to continue to be available for a good period of time. Body parts and other unique pieces may not be, but, all life is a gamble.

RIP K (at least in the US)!

I have owned my 2015 K900 VIP V8 for over 6 years, purchase for cash new, and have 80,000 miles on it. It still looks like, ride like, and almost smells like new. I have done a number of long trips with it, getting over 25 MPG on the road, and find it comfortable and quiet for a long day's drive. I would not trade this car or sell it. I just bought a new Genesis GV80 which has the same high tech stuff, but the K900 is more intuitive and easier to use.

Maybe if they advertised them a little bit, they might have generated more interest.

The new K8 seems to split the difference between Cadenza and K900, so maybe they'll bring it here to replace both. Details on Korean Car Blog say the K8 is larger and more luxurious than the K7 Cadenza.

I'm trading in my 2020 K900 this morning. I'm afraid the value of the car is going to crash very, very fast.
You'll still be able to get replacement engine parts because of the Stinger (which also is in big sales decline) but,
what about the hundreds of other parts unique to the K900? I can hear the dealer..."We don't stock that window motor. It is used only on the K900. I can get it from South Korea in 3-5 weeks. I'm sorry the motor failed while your window was in the down position".

Can't see the K8 in my driveway unfortunately. Might find me a lease return 2nd gen or get the Stinger GT AWD. Wanna go faster anyways

I seriously doubt the K8 will be offered over here. Sedans are currently a dieing brand and more so for the big ones. I think KIA has learn that they haven't quite cracked the code to get luxo barge buyers to enter their show room, unless it is a Telluride. Beside, K8 would probably steal a couple hundred sales from Genesis vs the Germans
