Default Deals arenít what they should be.

Given that sedans arenít selling I would think Kia would try harder to clear their existing inventory but I canít find a deal that includes BOTH rebates AND 0% financing. The incentives refreshed today but there was no change from last month.

Iíll cross the country to get a non-VIP with brown interior! Iíve never even driven the car but I know Iíd love it!

Just for curiosity, why are you set on the non-VIP? I haven't checked on the new ones, but when I was searching the first gen, I quickly decided it was VIP or nothing. The added equipment just put the car in another class, IMHO.

I might have a different opinion if I compared the cars side to side, but as far as I can tell, the VIP is mostly about a better rear seat, which I donít care about. The digital gauges would be nice, but not $55/month nice. Is the driverís seat the same in either version? I like extended thigh support.

I have to say, Blackbr, after a little googling, I'm starting to see your point on the VIP thing. On the previous generation, it added some very neat stuff. On the current car not so much, it seems.

Previous gen VIP features, taken from the factory brochure:
  • Smart Cruise Control
  • Heads Up Display (color)
  • Power door latches (soft close) - all four
  • 16 way Driver's Seat with power seat cushion extender
  • Surround View Monitor
  • Thin-Film Transistor Screen Instrument Cluster
  • Executive Rear Seat (misc. features)
  • Advanced Vehicle Safety System (several things)

The Heads Up Display and Surround View Monitor are things I use constantly. Smart Cruise and soft close doors, occasionally. Seat cushion extender, very occasionally. I guess the Safety System is good too--hope not to need it. But anyway, the VIP package added enough real value that I determined to shop for it.

Current VIP features, taken from the Kia website:
  • 14-Way Power-Adjustable Rear Right Passenger's Seat w/ 4-Way Power Lumbar Support
  • 12-Way Power-Adjustable Rear Left Passenger's Seat w/ 4-Way Power Lumbar Support
  • Chamudeģ Premium Headliner
  • Ventilated Rear Seats
  • 12.3-inch Full LCD Meter Display
  • Additional Rear Ventilation
  • Wireless Phone Charger, Rear
  • Front-Passenger Chauffeur Seat Switch

So, yeah, I see why you decided it only benefited rear-seat passengers, and it's $4400. Not a compelling deal. (No idea what Chamude headliner is. Us old-car owners have to get along with Alcantara...)
Kia-Driver and Blackbr like this.
