In case anyone comes back to this looking for discussion about K900's, I just replaced my rear shocks on my car because, despite what anyone said, I became convinced that my rear shocks were worn and the cause of a rough ride. The car wasn't taking bumps well past 60k miles, and it felt like it was always the rear tires, not the front, ie driving over the same bump with front and back, it was the back that harsh.
Now that I have replaced the shocks (finally, at 72k miles), the ride is much better. I don't hate the car anymore! Not saying it is silky smooth like my previous LS460, but it is like a normal car again that doesn't take bumps so harshly. In fact, despite not "needing it" according to mechanics, later this summer I am going to replace the front struts too. I want that original ride quality!
I know shock manufacturers say shocks should be replaced every 50k miles, but that's mostly BS. But I feel like the 50k rule might actually apply for the K900. And remember that no third party makes K900 struts/shocks, you need to get OEM replacement from Kia, which is what I did.
I went to my local Kia dealership (The one I like), parts and labor were just under $650.00, which I'm fine with.
