Default K900 engine cut-off

We rented a brand new K900 at AtlantaHartsfield airport Alamo last year for a week, during a family visit. Only a couple hundred miles or so. The engine turned totally off, at least 8 times, when we stopped at red lights. We would drive up to a red light and come to a stop. Then, the engine shut completely down, everything black, and we had to recrank the ignition to continue. We were in the deep south, and 4 hour drive from the nearest Alamo, so we couldn't return the car until end of trip. Alamo gave us almost a 100% refund. I never knew what happened to the car, but it sure was a beautiful piece of technology.....EXCEPT, the engine shut off when coming to a stop. We're lucky to be alive.

If Alamo put the gas in it, it was the cheapest crap they could get.
I went on a trip so several times had to settle for what gas I could find
But didn't have a problem with any of it.

I have owned mine since June not one problem I have the V6 and use the cheapest gas I can find usually with 10% ethanol and I still have no problem. If I owned the V8 I probably would use a higher octane rating . I think that particular one is a lemon and I am very surprised they would even use them in their fleet

Unhappy K900 Stalling Problem

Yes. I purchased a new 2016 K900 in December; it has stalled on me 5 times; each time almost causing me to be in a serious wreck; I go to merge into oncoming traffic; once I enter the roadway and accelerate, randomly the car stalls to a dead stop and then in about 2-3 seconds it takes off; it has done this to me with an 18 wheeler coming up on me, a dump truck and cars; each time I was lucky not to get rear ended by the oncoming vehicles - scary. I do not trust the car now, I am bringing it to the Kia dealership in Baton Rouge next week to see what they say; I am wondering if anyone else is having a similar problem???

Simple fix. turn off the traction control.
I had the same thing happen to me a few mornings when the road was wet
Then again when there was loose stones on road.
If I start out hard while making a turn it will still do it
It is an over acting traction control system.
Limits the rear wheels spinning., but instead of just slowing down for a second
KIA s shuts right down for way to long.
Hard starts compound the problem
If it happens other than that check with the service department.
Ive used regular gas in the V8 with no ill effects.
Same engine as the Hyundai and there manual say s it is ok to
use regular gas just a slight decrease in power. I didn't even notice that.
I normally use top tier high test gas but had to check after reading in
a HYUNDAI manual

Great! Quick question: Is it normal for the K900 radiator fan to run for a few minutes after the car has been turned off? I was told this was designed this way to cool off the engine. Is this true? Thanks.
