Unhappy Locked out using EVO! Car running! Dog inside!

Using EVO I locked my car with the engine running (dog inside on a sweltering day) and wouldn't you know, EVO refused to unlock the car when I came back. The remote unit did nothing, presumably because EVO was in control. I finally had to pry the keyhole cover off, which was a pain to figure out, and use the manual key. Is this a known software flaw?

Sorry to hear this! Getting the UVO app going on my phone & car is going to be one of my next projects. But this gives me pause.

Hope somebody along the party line will have something helpful to say.

I have the UVO app going now on my phone. No problems like the above so far. It's really fun to play with!

It does take some learning to run, though. I discovered that if you start the car, logically, with the on/off screen, you are then locked out of adjusting the climate control--it says it can't process any commands while the engine is on. So what you do is set the climate control screen, and then it says it must "ignite" the engine to start climate control. So you say OK, and there you are--you really don't use the engine on/off screen at all. It automatically turns on the emergency flashers too, which I think is odd.

That ignite thing makes me laugh every time. It would be a scene for a comedy if it really went up in flames, wouldn't it? If you sued, the cross-examination would be epic. "Then you admit, sir, that the app screen warned you that the engine would ignite?"

Ah, it's late and I'm getting too silly. I should go to bed.

Does anybody know how long the idle time is after remote start? I'm thinking I am getting there just too late--I can tell the climate control has been on, but it's not running. (I have a long walk from my office to the parking garage.)

What's more irritating, apparently the app won't tell you it shut off, as far as I can tell.

Runs for 10 minutes then shuts off.
If it is running and you turn it off using the app
can take a whole minute before it shuts off early

Thanks for the info, Gene! The app is a nice convenience, but takes some getting used to.
